Viktor Gyokeres has spoken with his sporty Lisbon teammates about his plans for the future, while Arsenal tries to beat the competition to sign £ 60 million in the summer transfer window
Arsenal may have one more match about this season, but they have already started to penetrate their plans for the summer transfer window. The Gunners are taking off their campaign against Bottom Club Southampton on Sunday and are preparing for a busy summer.
The side of Mikel Arteta has secured Champions League football for next season and are almost assured of the second after their 1-0 win over Newcastle at the weekend. That result means that they can relax when they go to St Mary's stage this weekend and can focus their attention on the summer before the summer.
New sports director Andrea Berta will be a busy man, with a center of the top class the first item on the club's wish list after a third consecutive place in the Premier League. However, there are many other deals to do, including the loading of the unwanted players in the team.
Viktor Gyokers in the name on the lips of every Arsenal fan at the moment and the Gunners are going out to secure his services. With that in mind here are the newest headlines from Mirror Football about the transfer tensions of the club.
Gyokees opens for teammates
Viktor Gyokers has told his sporting teammates that he is not sure where he will play football next season. Sporting has secured the competition during the weekend and are now fully focused on beating Benfica on Sunday to win the Portuguese Cup.
Gyokeres is strongly connected to a £ 60 million move to Arsenal, but sporty midfielder Pedro Goncalves says he is not sure where he is going, with football the current focus. “I asked him and we asked him all. He says he is not a fortune teller. We still have the Portuguese cup against Benfica to play,” he told Canal 11.
New sports director Andrea Berta has made the signing of Gyokeres his top priority and, as Mirror Football recently reported, the Gunners believe that they are in a pole position, after they have been ahead of the competition by making it clear that they are ready to pay the asking price and give the Swede a deal with a value of £ 7 million a year.
Arsenal enters Jorginho interviews
Arsenal will release Jorginho early, so that he can participate at Flamengo on time to play at the club World Cup this summer. Jorginho's contract expires at the end of June, but, just like Trent Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid, Flamengo wants him to become a member earlier, so that he can perform in the club World Cup.
Arsenal is currently in conversation to make this happen and are willing to play the ball as a show of good faith to the Italian midfielder, who is a favorite of Mikel Artetas. Flamengo plays their first match in the Club World Cup on June 17, but the current deal of the midfielder only proceeds until the end of the month.
In the summer of 2023 he came back to Arsenal van Rivalen Chelsea for a reported fee of £ 12 million and was made during his time at the Club 79 performances, and became a familiar and experienced Pro in the middle of the field.
Calafiori expresses
Riccardo Calafiori has denied that he wants to leave the Gunners. Calafiori only moved to the Emirates Stadium in the summer when the Gunners signed him in a £ 42 million deal from Bologna.
But after an injuries disturbed debut campaign, he was associated with a move to AC Milan. He has now tried to pour cold water on those left. “I am very happy in Arsenal. In my opinion, what was missing was just continuity this year,” he said Gianlucadimarzio.com.
“I will try to be more consistent next year. When I was good, I always played and made the difference. The goal is just to stay in shape all year round. For me personally, [my first season in England] was a great experience. It is clear that when you win trophies, it is always better.
“Here I measured myself against the most important and difficult championship in the world. I saw that I could be easy, this made me very happy and I am convinced of the choice I made. A regret? No, absolutely.”
