Arsenal and Aston Villa have discovered their quarter -final data from Champions League after they have become the last remaining British teams in the tournament.
The Gunners came off in the last eight after a 2-2 draw against PSV sealed a 9-3 aggregated victory, while the men of Unai Emery also have a 3-1 in the next round after beating Club Brugge to achieve a 6-1 total victory.
Arsenal will now prepare for a huge quarter -final draw against reigning champions Real Madrid, where UEFA confirms that the first stage will take place on the Emirates on Tuesday 8 April at 8 p.m. GMT.
In the meantime, Villa is the next day on Wednesday 9 April at the same time opposite the conquerors of Liverpool, with the first stage that is in the Parc de Princes.
The second legs will take place a week later and the men of Emery must be happy that they will play the second and decisive second stage in Villa Park, which will take place on Tuesday 15 April.
Arsenal is then confronted with a discouraging trip to the Bernabeu on Wednesday, April 16, in the hope that they are still in the draw for their demanding test on one of Europe's most difficult grounds.
The first legs of the semi -final are played on April 29 and 30, with the second legs for 6 and 7 May.
Interesting enough, if Arsenal and Villa were to numb their favorite opponents and both reach the semi -final, they will play each other for the chance to reach the final against Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan or Borussia Dortmund.
Arsenal certainly has the most difficult game and Arteta believes that their support in the first home leg will be crucial for the draw.
“The first is that you have to be at your best when it comes for the two games for every minute,” said the Spaniard. “Give nothing away, because they are going to take it. And today we have seen that with the two goals we have admitted, so that is a big learning.
“Ultimately, the game in the boxes is determined, individual talent, individual designs are crucial and then create an incredible atmosphere if we get the chance to play at home, that is crucial.”
