Arsenal would only allow William Saliba to join Real Madrid if the Spanish club participates in a world record compensation for a defender, is claimed.
Saliba came to Arsenal from Saint-Etienne in 2019 as a promising young person and has grown into one of the most much-needed centerbacks in world football. He played every minute last season when the Gunners came to win the Premier League title and this period remained an important player in front of Mikel Arteta.
Madrid has long been on the market for a new center-back, with injuries to some important men who remain a factor. In two years, Eer Militao suffered a second ACL, while David Alaba is only back from a similar injury and Toni Rudiger is currently being set aside with a separate problem.
Saliba, 23, would be the top priority of Los Blancos. However, it will be contraction with Arsenal until 2027, and the London side does not let one of their prices activa leave cheaply.
According to RMC Sport, Arsenal would only sell for a record compensation and would rather not sell it at all. The current record is the £ 78.3 million Manchester United paid for Harry Maguire in 2019, with Josko Gvardiol (£ 77 million) from Manchester City.
Saliba is not the only defensive target on the radar of Los Blancos. Liverpool Right back Trent Alexander-Arnold was a January target white after an injury to Dani Carvajal, although the Reds were not in a hurry to sell.
Alexander-Arnold was able to move in the summer when his Liverpool contract ends. Saliba will be a more difficult deal to seal, although a possible step for Vinicius Junior could still free up the funds that the Champions League holders need.
According to athletics, the Brazilian has rejected Madrid's opening offer of a new contract. Just like Saliba, his current deal runs until 2027, and in his case it is said that the Ballon d'Or-Tweede wage wages wants to be in accordance with its status as one of the world's best.
The former Flamengo star has publicly indicated a desire to stay in the Spanish capital for the varied future. However, his representatives are said to have investigated a potential Saudi Pro League switch, and the interest of the Gulf State can be renewed in the summer of 2025.
In the meantime, Saliba is part of a group of Arsenal players to go to Dubai, where the Mikel Arteta team enjoys a Warmweer camp for their next Premier League match on 15 February. Colleague defender Ben White is also part of the group, with the former Brighton man who returns close to the knee operation after three months on the sidelines.
