Arsenal -Baas Mikel Arteta will serve a touchline ban in the last match of the Premier League season after being booked against Newcastle on Sunday.
Arteta was warned in the final phase of the 1-0 victory at the Emirates, where the Gunners boss kicked the ball back on the field.
The caution was Arteta's third of the Premier League season, a count that resulted in an automatic ban on one match.
Arteta will now have to be in the stands on the last day while Arsenal Face Southampton relegated at St Mary's.
However, the competition will not have a big consequence for Arsenal who has sealed a return to the Champions League next season by beating Newcastle.
Declan Rice's excellent goal of the second half proved the difference between the two parties.
The Gunners are effectively assured of ending second for the third consecutive season because of their superior goal difference.
Arsenal, however, is currently 12 points behind the newly crowned champions and also suffered a disappointing semi -final exit to PSG in the Champions League.
After the game, Arteta addressed that Arsenal had not been brought to their ambitions during the campaign and had disputed injury problems.
He also suggested that the club would watch in the summer to stimulate their Premier League and Champions League ambitions next season.
“We will clearly be very disappointed because we wanted to be here with the Premier League of the Champions League, but it's not the case,” Arteta told Sky Sports.
'But haunting a dream has his up and down, but make sure that it doesn't get blurry and does not recognize what we have done.
Every other team that I also saw with one injury, ending as 8th, 5th, 16th, 17th.
'What this team has done to maintain the level of the entire season with everything that happened is incredible. We must appreciate what these guys have done.
'Yes [this season has tested me more than any other]. Because of the culture we set, because of the norms and mentality we have at this club.
'If you increase the expectation, that is what is coming. Because we are there, nobody wants us to be there. We are already there three or four seasons. They want to take us there and that will be difficult.
“Finish the season, go to the beach and make sure that those upstairs do what they have to do.”
