Arsenal closes a deal to bring Noni Madueke to the Emirates Stadium from Chelsea, and Mikel Arteta is already aware of the supporting nature of his incoming winger
Mikel Arteta will catch a supporting teammate in Noni Madueke, while the Chelsea wing player resembles the exchange of Stamford Bridge for the Emirates Stadium. The protective and friendly nature of the winger is previously spotted in action with Chelsea attacker and former Gunners -Loingen Raheem Sterling, for whom he has held up several times.
After their fourth signing of the summer, Arsenal arrives in Madueke, after having concluded a £ 52 million deal with their Premier League and London Rivals Chelsea.
Personal conditions have already been agreed on a five-year-old deal for the 23-year-old, and although he will add quality and depth to a somewhat missing forward line, Arteta will be equally satisfied with the attitude of the young winger compared to his teammates.
During the 2023/24 season, Chelsea took on Leicester City in the quarter -finals of the FA Cup and fans became less than impressed by the performance of Sterling on the field. He struggled to create opportunities and missed a penalty in the first half of the game that could have suppressed the worries of many fans.
After he was replaced just a few minutes before the 90 was replaced, the winger was met with Jeers and angry of the crowd – much for Madueke's displeasure. Speaking after the game, the then 22-year-old stopped for his older colleague and urged Blues supporters to support the English International.
He said: “It is so important (to support him). I am no one to tell you not to have an opinion, but I also have mine. That is one of my teammates and the criticism is hard and unfair. It is our duty to give our opinion and change the story a bit.
“Raheem is an exceptional football player and an even better person. It is a bit disturbing when I see part of the criticism. I am sure he can handle it, but we know how important he is for us.
“He is definitely a big brotherly for many of us. There is much that people don't see. I only know that he is exceptional and super dedicated to the cause.”
These words emphasize Madueke's courage to stick his neck out and defend his teammate, despite the grim contrast in age, see how loyal he is to the people he plays.
After Sterling had given a public apology on social media for his Penalty Miss, Madueke continued his defense of the star player while he said, “Not necessary to apologize … We appreciate you.”
The young Chelsea star even went so far that he returned to a fan who called Sterling's Miss and wrote in a now removed answer: “Be quiet man, people like you are the problem.”
Madueke's defense of his former teammate Sterling shows his supporting nature and fierce loyalty to his team. This attitude is perhaps what Arteta is looking in his team, because the Gunners -Baas resembles a different challenge for the Premier League crown.
Madueke is also fresh from some European success, after winning the UEFA Conference League and Club World Cup with the blues-it-beating Real Betis and Paris Saint-Germain to add silverware to his collection.
