Mikel Arteta says he is “really concerned” about the hamstring injury suffered by Bukayo Saka during Arsenal's 5-1 defeat to Crystal Palace.
The England winger was forced off in the 24th minute at Selhurst Park and subsequently left the stadium on crutches.
It is the second hamstring problem this season for Saka, who was absent for several weeks after suffering the same injury while on international duty in October.
The 23-year-old also suffered a leg injury in May, ruling him out of Arsenal's final game of the 2023/2024 season against Everton.
And Arteta could not hide his concern over Saka's latest setback.
“He felt something in his hamstring, he couldn't go any further,” said the Gunners head coach. “He will have to be assessed, so [I am] really worry about that.
“It's very difficult to [comment of the extent of the injury] now. It's in the same leg. I don't know how big this is going to be.”
The Spaniard is also awaiting the extent of the training ground injury that Raheem Sterling suffered on Friday.
“We don't know how long that is either,” Arteta added. “It's not good to lose two players in 24 hours.
“With the number of matches that are played every three days, I am not surprised. But the team will respond to that.”
