‘As soon as you mention his name I smile’ – Rosenior praises Samuel Amo-Ameyaw

Samuel Amoandeigaw (18) quickly settles in life in eastern France after he left Southampton FC for RC Strasbourg as on loan during the winter transfer window (but with an option of € 7 million to make the deal permanent).

Amo-Naurnyaw earned his second start of the campaign on Saturday evening when Strasbourg fought for a 2-2 draw with colleague Champions League hunters OGC Nice. The winger scored his second of the campaign to give Strasbourg a 2-1 lead, until Youssouf Ndayishimiye was right in a stop time.

The teenager has earned the praise from his head coach, Liam Rosenior, who told reporters in his press conference after the game: “As soon as you mention his name, I smile!” In further comments at Dazn, he said: “He is a great talent that already has an exceptional maturity for his age.”

Strasbourg was disappointed to drop points last night in the extremely busy Champions League race. The draw was sufficient for Lille OSC to jump in fourth place for Strasbourg on goal difference. Both Lille and Strasbourg could fall along the table tonight and Olympique Lyonnais wins against AJ Auxerre.
