An eighth victory in nine Premier League matches raised Unai Emery's side to fourth place, a point above Manchester City.
They claimed the opener just before the hour the corner of John McGinn went down by Ollie Watkins to the path of Ezri Konsa who entered up close.
Boubacar Kamara took care of the victory and scored his first Premier League goal with a low, drilled 73rd finish past Spurs keeper Antonin Kinsky.
McGinn also dismissed an attempt to get a scary wide in an impressive villa version.
They now have to win their last game of the season at Manchester United and hope that other results will go their way to seal a top five finish.
Ange Postecoglou's injury hit Spurs side had little to offer in response and remains fourth of Bottom while focusing their attention on the Europa League final against the United of Ruben Amorim on Wednesday 21 May.
