Aston Villa 2 West Ham 1: Graham Potter delight turns to despair as Villans reach FA Cup fourth round with comeback win

ASTON VILLA's quick turnaround ruined Graham Potter's first game as West Ham boss.

Lucas Paqueta provided a shock early opener in this frenetic FA Cup third round, but Villa sub Amadou Onana and Morgan Rogers struck midway through the second period.

Paqueta needed just nine minutes to turn Unai Emery's men upside down

But each team lost a player to injury in the next fifteen minutes in freezing conditions.

Hammers' striker Niklas Fullkrug had to be replaced by Danny Ings.

And Onana came on for fellow Villa midfielder Ross Barkley.

Emery's side then finished a messy first half on top.

But it took a controversial corner award to help Villa equalize in the 71st minute.

Westham keeper Lukasz Fabianski was unable to hold on to Ian Maatsen's low shot and Onana drilled home from a yard out – as the visitors protested furiously.

And five minutes later, Ollie Watkins burst into the penalty area to tee up Rogers as Villa turned the ball completely over.
