Aston Villa 3-2 PSG (agg 4-5) – PLAYER RATINGS: Who looked fragile at the back?

Paris Saint-Germain held a spicy Aston Villa to reach the semi-final of the Champions League in an exciting quarter-final, second stage in Villa Park.

Villa looked down and out when Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes put the French giants 2-0 in the night and 5-1 in total aggregated within the first half hour.

But the men of Unai Emery gathered and launched an excellent comeback for the supervising Prince William and Prince George.

Youri Tielemans gave Villa Hope in the first half before two goals in so many minutes – scored by John McGinn and Ezri Konsa – before the hour set up an exciting final.

Villa could not find any other to level the draw, because PSG survived a huge fear of on the last four, despite losing 3-2 in the night.

For a fraction of a second at the PSG opening goal, hesitated, but could not do much about the second. Two second half stops from Dembele.

Trust through the pace of Barcola and the PSG wing player could not catch for the opener, but contributed to the Fightback

Ezri Konsa 7.5

Tough against this PSG side that does not have an Orthodox Center Primer, but he stood up as usual and took his goal well.

Pau Torres 5.5

Could have been decisive when Barcola crossed for the first goal and often looked vulnerable when returning.

Lucas Digne 7

Did well in the beginning and Timed his attacking eruptions well, although the stranded field left the second goal.

Morgan Rogers 6.5

The volume lifted a few notches when he took the ball and a shot with left-feet just wide.

Boubacar Kamara 7

Tried to protect his center backs and made some important interceptions, but the pace of this PSG side will bother every defensive player.

Amadou Onana 6

Brought on the side to give Villa more physicality in the middle and aerial photo threat at set pieces.

John McGinn 8

Lively from the start, always takes the positive option and Harry's opponents. Brilliant run for the second goal. Surprise when he was deleted.

Pushed in the NO10 roll, his bent strike placed villa on the plate and he used the ball well when he could.

Did it work well when Villa had the ball and kept moving when PSG had him. Some beautiful interceptions and fainting.

Starting on the right, he was not the same player as in the first stage and his mistake led to Tielemans' goal.
