Aston Villa broke a huge blow to the Battle for Champions League qualification, in which Newcastle United was hit 4-1 to draw in two points of them in the Premier League table.
The hosts thoroughly earned their victory in Villa Park, where they led within 33 seconds.

Villa has been in brilliant form for their own fans lately and won six straight home competitions in all competitions, while they score at least twice in each of those competitions.
It is their longest series of home gains while scoring multiple goals on every occasion since January 1990 (11), while they have also won five consecutive league games in general.
They were led by a talismic version of Watkins, while he replaced Marcus Rashford at the tip of the villa attack.
Watkins has now scored 74 Premier League goals for Villa-de Joint of each player for them in the competition, alongside Gabriel Agbonlaor.
And since the beginning of last season, Watkins has scored and helped in eight Premier League matches, with only Mohamed Salah on more occasions (15).
A big, big win for Aston Villa in the race to achieve a top five finish and a place in the UEFA Champions League next season.

Newcastle has since admitted four or more goals in four different Premier League matches this campaign. Only the current bottom three of Ipswich Town (Acht), Leicester City and Southampton (five each) have done this more often.
