Aston Villa 4 Newcastle 1: Unai Emery’s genius subs down Toon and throw Champions League race wide open

Aston Villa hit four past Newcastle to increase their hope for Champions League football.

The Villans conquered their midweek European heartache with an energetic version against the Magpies in Villa Park.

The hosts started the perfect start when the bumped strike by Ollie Watkins Nick Pope in the net and in the net.

Fabian Schar made up for his bad defense of the goal when he went to the Leveler in the 17th minute.

Villa hit back to restore the lead in the 64th minute when Ian Maatssen let an arrow run on the wing before he passed Pope.

The result was tied in the 73rd minute when Burn the ball changed the ball into his own net of a Jacob Ramsey Cross.

Amadou Onana then placed the icing on the top with a brilliant finish only two minutes later from the edge of the box.
