Aston Villa are closing in on shock loan deal for Marcus Rashford

Aston Villa concludes a loan agreement for Marcus Rashford what would be one of their most remarkable signing sessions of modern times.

The Manchester United Forward is out of favor at Old Trafford and was allowed to leave before the window closes on Monday. Rashford's wage of approximately £ 350,000 is well above the salary of Villa's top earner, although to be EMI Martinez.

It is understood that Villa will contribute a considerable part of the salary of Rashford, which will include performance -based clauses. The agreement has also been established to include a purchase option at the end of the season.

Villa Boss Unai Emery is desperately looking for an attacker, but the move for Rashford would still be surprising. Frozen by Ruben Amorim, the 27-year-old has not played a competitive game since 12 December, it is unclear if he could run the ground.

After the sale of Jhon Duran to Al Nassr for a deal that could reach £ 70 million, Villa lagged behind with Ollie Watkins as their only senior center-forward. Emery said that Watkins would not leave this month, despite an offer from Arsenal last Wednesday.

Although Arsenal believed that Watkins was open to join them, Emery tried to close the move on Friday, in which Villa prepared to compete against Wolves in Molineux on Saturday. He wanted to bring in Joao Felix, but AC Milan also pushes to sign the Chelsea Forward.

The Gunners made a bid for Watkins-hours before Villas 4-2 victory over Celtic in the Champions League last Wednesday, although Villa close to the sale of Jhon Duran, their other Center-Forward, sold to Al Nassr, with that deal expected by to go on Friday.

Emery would only say after the Celtic that he wanted to keep Watkins 'in Villa Park', but he was much clearer on Friday.

Asked if he could declare that Watkins was not for sale, Emery said: 'Yes, yes. We spoke with him and he is very focused on the message we have.

“He is happy to stay. You can ask him, but we asked him how he feels every day, every year he has been here with Aston Villa, with us and without us. '

'The dedication of Ollie Watkins with us is a huge commitment. He appreciates a lot of how Aston Villa always supported him, helped him, and when we arrived here two years ago, how we worked with him, always try to get the best of him.

“Now we need him, as if he needed Aston Villa. I talk to him a lot and he always adjusts to every circumstance that we have in the team.

'When some teams call us to show interest in the players, it is of course very good for us and very good for the players.

'Some players prefer to leave and some players accept to stay here, to be here and commit themselves to us. One is Ollie Watkins. '
