Despite their difficulties in registering Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, now that the sale of their VIP seats has been confirmed and Barcelona are back within their salary cap, they could potentially be active in the January transfer market. Their ability to act could be defined by Unai Emery and Aston Villa.
Villa have been closely linked with Celta Vigo right-back Oscar Mingueza, on whom Barcelona have a 50% sell-on fee. The Galician side are already demanding their €20 million release clause as a result. With Barcelona needing more money to complete a deal for Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford, the ten million euros they would theoretically receive from Mingueza's deal, if it went through, would be enough to cover the England striker's loan to secure, reports Sport.
Rashford is reportedly prioritizing a move to Barcelona, and the Catalans have made him their top target. Nevertheless, Villa have also been linked with a number of defenders and may not ultimately opt for Mingueza. Barcelona are thought to be looking to make the necessary savings for the Rashford deal, while Andreas Christensen, Eric Garcia and Ansu Fati are other names that could be on the move in the Catalan capital.
