Aston Villa not willing to pay Barcelona star’s €50m asking price

Barcelona has to sell this summer if they want to make their desired signing sessions, and a number of players are seen as options to continue. This includes Ansu Fati and Pau Victor, but another attacker seems to stay in the club – despite interest from the Premier League.

Ferran Torres has had an excellent season with Barcelona. Although he is not a regular starter, the 25-year-old 19 goals and nine assists during 45 performances in all competitions. And it is not surprising that this has led to interests of clubs that can give him a more prominent squadrol.

In recent weeks it has been reported that Aston Villa is enthusiastic about Ferran, who is reportedly available for a prize in the region of € 50 million. And their interest is now confirmed by MD, who say that a move could be made in the summer. But if so, then it's not for the current asking price.

Aston Villa such as Ferran, who they see as a “excellent player”, but they have no plans to reach € 50 million in an attempt to take him away the Barcelona. And a summer agreement is made more difficult by the fact that the player himself only thinks to stay in the Hansi Flick team, where he is happy with his role.

Flick is also happy with Ferran this season and he sees them as a fantastic player. As such, there is an expectation that he will continue as a backup of Robert Lewandowski, whose fame will probably start to decrease next year, since he will soon reach the age of 37 years.

It is a no-brainer for Barcelona to retain the services of Ferran, which has been excellent for the past 12-18 months. Only a crazy offer must be considered, given the importance he has in the Flick team – and it is clear that Aston Villa will not be the ones who will make this.
