Aston Villa has shopped during the winter transfer window in La Liga, although it seems as if all their efforts will be in vain, to the great annoyance of head coach Unai Emery and sports director Monchi.
Oscar Mingueza and Oscar Mingueza had both been on the Aston Villa shopping list, although neither made the move to Birmingham. Their last target was Juan Foyth, whose Villarreal was willing to leave the middle season, provided that their asking price was achieved.
Relo has now reported that another agreement has to be reached between Villarreal and Aston Villa, and with only a few days to go until the winter transfer window is closed, it is expected that the Argentinian defender La Ceramica will not leave.
Foyth, who already has Premier League experience with Tottenham Hotspur, returned in December after an injury of 12 months, which was a huge boost for Villarreal. He had been a starter until a recent blow loved him from last weekend's draw in Atletico Madrid, although it seems as if he now gets the chance to get back into the line-up between now and the summer.
It has been a good day for Villarreal on the transfer of the transfer. Rafa Marin and Tajon Buchanan will arrive on loan from Napoli and Inter Milan respectively, while Alex Baena has rejected a move to Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli, who was willing to activate the release clause of € 60 million in his contract.
