Khamzat Chimaev came overly from the Main Event of UFC 319 and it wasn't even close.
Five years after his dominant arrival on the largest stage of MMA, Chimaev finally completed his long predicted climb to TitleGlorie on Saturday night.
Chimaev defeated Dricus du Plessis on UFC 319, with his victory on the South African who came on top of a line -up that also contained striking victories for people like Lerone Murphy, Carlos Prates and Michael 'Venom' page.
While a few of those names have delivered 'Knock -Out of the Year' contenders, it is safe to say that nobody has easily surpassed his opponent in Chicago as the newly crowned middleweight king.
Khamzat Chimaev surpassed Dricus du Plessis 529-45 on UFC 319
Chimaev needed the score cards for the third time in his career, but there was little doubt about what way the jury members had gone after the horn sounded to end the main event with five rounds.
Du Plessis was incredibly confident pre-fight, but was unable to get rid of each attack during the course of 25 minutes, with Chimaev giving an incredible 21 minutes and 40 seconds control time.
Although the grip-heavy approach left the fans in the United Center less than happy, perhaps the most one-sided statistics actually came through strikes.
In addition to collecting the second most control time in the UFC history, Chimaev made the record with one fight for most strikes that landed with 529 in the UFC 319 Main Event.
Proof of how crooked how crooked the fight was, the South African managed to make a connection compared to only 45 connections, which contributes to a level of dominance that, according to some, has never been seen before from a UFC title title.
Dana White willing to grant the wish of Khamzat Chimaev
When viewing UFC 319, many would express their concern for the middleweight division, Chimaev find his way to the throne because of its history of inactivity.
'Borz' himself pushed back on suggestions that he cannot defend the title often enough. And to prove it, Chimaev threw a quick reversal Na-PUC 319, where the interest was set out to return to UFC 321 in Abu Dhabi only two months later.
During his press conference Backstage in United Center, the request from Dana White Green-Lit Chimaev.
“I just had a child fight Tuesday and wanted to turn around and fight here. Abu Dhabi? I would definitely consider,” said White.
