Atalanta 2-0 Bologna: Retegui integral in routine win

Atalanta saw Bologna 2-0 to go to third place in the Serie A, where Mateo Retegui played a crucial role.

The team of Gian Piero Gasperini ran within 21 minutes on Sunday in a lead of two goals at the Gediss Stadium.

The most important scorer retegui from Series A was on goal within three minutes and ran in the right -hand center of Raoul Bellanova.

That was the first goal of Atalanta in four games and brought Retegui's count to 23 competition goals for the season.

Retegui then became the provider when he took Jhon Lucumi's challenge and stuck to Mario Pasalic to fire home.

Those goals were the only shots of Atalanta on the goal, in which the hosts generally only managed four attempts, but Bologna – who started the day only one point behind their hosts – could not find a way back.

Data Debrief: Retegui is one of the best

Retegui has now been involved in 28 league goals this season, after he has scored 23 and helped five.

Only Mohamed Salah (44), Harry Kane (30) and Omar Marmoush (30) have contributed to more goals in Europe's top five competitions in 2024-25.

His opener was his fastest Serie A-target, while only Filippo Inzaghi (24 in 1996-97) scored more times in a single season of top flight for Atalanta than Retegui, who has now matched Duvan Zapata's count of 23 of 2018-19.

Although they only had four shots, Atalanta 1.14 recorded expected goals for Bologna's 0.59 of 12 attempts.
