Atalanta defender Djimisti insists no excuses for Club Brugge defeat

Bruges won the second leg of their Champions League Round 16 Playoff with 3-1 in Bergamo on Tuesday evening. The Belgians claim 5-2 aggregated.

“It's hard to find the words at the moment. We congratulate Bruges, they had three goals with three counterattacks, they knew what they were doing and made our game more complicated, ”Djimsiti told Sky Italia.

“I still saw spirit of the team, we never gave up and despite this defeat we have to get our heads and concentrate on the next Serie A competition.”

He added: “We had many injuries, but Bruges is a good team, they play well and if they have caused us more problems in the first stage, but were deadly on the counterattack. It was unlucky, but we too have to look at what we can do better, because we cannot go 3-0 in a game like this during the break.

“Now we have to charge our batteries, take the one game at the same time and learn from our mistakes.”
