Atalanta fans go viral in Spain for banner about Barcelona in Champions League clash

Barcelona drove to the round of 16 in the Champions League group phase and ended with a 2-2 draw against Atalanta in Montjuic on Wednesday evening. It was a relatively relaxing night for the Blaugrana, disturbed by the traveling Dea fans.

A noisy part of 3,000 Atalanta fans was heard during the game in the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Company, which ensures much less than a home atmosphere in the Catalan capital. But online it was one of their banners who made waves.

As depicted by Diario as, a banner who said: 'The Barca Trident: debts, credit, guarantees' was stopped, referring to the shaky financial situation in the club. There is certainly a growing perception, especially in Spain, but also throughout Europe, that Barcelona has been able to circumvent financial rules. Currently, the club is debts compared to more than € 1.5 billion, and including the costs of the Espai Barca project, that debts rise to more than € 3 billion.

Despite the fact that they have their salary limit (until January) more for two years, Barcelona has still succeeded in signing Dani Olmo for € 55 million from RB Leipzig. With a lot of drama about their OLMO registration this month, the dissatisfaction of other clubs with their way of things was clear with various clubs, including Sevilla, Athletic Club and Atletico Madrid, reportedly lobbying at La Liga and the RFEF to OLMO Barcelona's registration to reject. Something they did, but Barcelona provided an emergency bus to keep them available for selection.

Their salary limit problems date from the sale of assets for the melody of more than € 650 million in 2021, but for one of their 'economic levers', Barca Vision, the club only received approximately € 55 million of the € 200 million for which they have the shares sold. That money was then used to sign Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Jules Kounde, although Barcelona is taking legal steps against the investors who have not deposited.
