Match report
Alexander Sorloth came off the bench to score the winning goal in Atletico Madrid's 1–0 win over Getafe, their eleventh win in a row in all competitions.
Diego Simeone's side moved level on points with leaders Barcelona, who play Leganes later on Sunday, leaving rival Real Madrid behind.
Atletico dominated the opening period, registering eight shots, although Julian Alvarez's strike in the 41st minute was their only attempt at David Soria's goal.
The hosts continued to push for the opener when Pablo Barrios went close, but Simeone's half-time substitution proved to be the difference at the Metropolitano.
Sorloth replaced Samuel Lino at half-time and emerged victorious in the 69th minute, combining well with fellow substitute Nahuel Molina.
Molina collected the ball on the right before swinging an inch-perfect cross towards Sorloth's head, with his effort bouncing beyond Soria's reach.

Data debriefing: narrow margins
While Atletico ensured their winning run continued on Sunday, their narrow victory should have warranted a better scoreline in the Spanish capital.
Simeone's side registered an expected goals total (xG) of 1.64 from their eleven shots, while Getafe were also limited to an xG of just 0.17 from their seven attempts.
Atlético has made a habit of winning by one goal. The win makes it their fourth 1-0 victory in LaLiga this season, a division high alongside Garcia Pimienta's Sevilla.
And their victory was secured by Sorloth, who has now scored 24 goals in LaLiga in 2024. Only Robert Lewandowski (27) scored more than the Norwegian this year.
