The first half of the first half of Giuliano Simeone helped Atletico Madrid in the semi-final of Copa del Rey after beating Getafe 5-0 in the Metropolitano on Tuesday.
Atletico has not lost any goal or admitted in their three Copa del Rey meetings against Getafe (W2 D1), and were worthy winners after an unbridled show.
Atletico ran in the front in the eighth minute when the cross of Javi Galan went into the bottom corner from the left through Simeone.
The Argentinian doubled his count nine minutes later and called off a sizzling counterattack with a low finish along Jiri Letacek after good work by Julian Alvarez.
Alvarez was again involved with Atletico's third just before the break and slipped in Samuel Lino, who was Juan Iglesias before rolling a right foot in the net.
Simeone thought he had completed his hat trick shortly after the break, but his 49th -minute goal was excluded for offside before he was replaced by Cesar Azpilicueta.
Atletico had to wait until the 78th minute for their fourth, with replacement Angel Correa who shot home from a distance after collecting the Pas from Conor Gallagher just outside the box.
Alexander Sorloth concluded the scoring of four minutes of time and combined well with Correa after an error by Domingos Duarte with a neat finish beyond Letacek.
Atletico has protected a place in the semi -final for the second consecutive season and changes their attention to Laliga, where they are confronted with leaders Real Madrid on Saturday.
Data Debrief: Unbridled Atleti continues with a good form
After they have seen their 15-game extraction run end against Leganes earlier this month, Simeone's Side now played five games in all competitions (W4 D1), with this perhaps their most complete performance in that streak.
Madrid scored five or more goals in a home game of Copa del Rey from the quarterfinals for the first time since an 8-1 win over Real Sociedad in 1965 (semi-final).
They also came during the break three goals for the good, the first time they had done this in every competition since January 2023 against Real Valladolid in Laliga (also 3-0).
And the Atletico -Baas, not for the first time this season, has shown its quality in reserve. Under Laliga players with the most goals as replacements in all competitions, Alvarez, Sorloth and Correa (all six) Simeone have given a selection force for this weekend's Madrid Derby.
