Atletico Madrid invested more than € 100 million in their forward line last summer, but may want to reinforce their attack in the coming summer. The last one in Spain is that they had contact with Espanyol captain Javi Puado.
This season, the former Spain Under-21 attacker led the line for Los Pericos as Captain, who did this last year last year in their promotion-push last year. The most important element in their attack, however, the 26-year-old is from the contract this summer and seems to have decided to extend his deal in the RCDE stadium.
According to relo, Atletico Madrid reportedly contacted his camp to inquire about his situation because they consider a step for him. So far that it has gone, but Los Rojiblancos are attracted by his versatility, age and clearly the price. A number of parties have shown interest in Puado in the past year. Sevilla was heavily connected to him before the turn of the year, while RCD Mallorca is also enthusiastic about Puado.
This season he has ten goals in 26 games for Los Pericos, which map their goals and hope to keep them awake this season. Apart from a loan saying in 2019 in Real Zaragoza, Puado has so far spent his entire career in Cornella, usually operating from the left side of the attack, although it has been worked everywhere in the front line, rise for his pace.
Los Colchoneros currently has to deal with uncertainty in the attack for next season, with the future of Antoine Griezmann who still has to be defined. Angel Correa is another member of the options of Diego Simeone who could leave this summer, and certainly wants Atletico depth past Alexander Sorloth and Julian Alvarez. In that sense, Puado could be a useful addition, giving Simeone options in different positions.
