Espanyol seem to resign this summer when he loses Joan Garcia, although they could allow him to keep him for another season through Atletico Madrid.
Garcia has been one of the best keepers in La Liga this season and that is why he has attracted strong interest in a number of clubs throughout Europe. Barcelona is one, but the team of which is most interested is Arsenal, who followed the 23-year-old since they missed him last summer.
Arsenal is the team that will most likely take a step for Garcia in the summer, but they can be accompanied by Atleti, who views a deal during the transfer window, as reported by Ruben Uria (via Ed).
Atleti Value Garcia very high, and they see him as an ideal candidate to succeed Jan Oblak, their current number one. However, they are not yet going to replace the Slovenian shot stopper, and that is why they would agree to agree with a deal with which the Spaniard would stay in Espanyol for a different season.
This is a deal that would undoubtedly prefer Espanyol, who are dependent on Garcia this season – and they will continue to do this between now and the end of the campaign, because they want to prevent a striving from La Liga. And that is why the Athleti gives an advantage in terms of achieving a more favorable deal with Los Pericos, given that Arsenal would sign the goalkeeper with the idea of bringing him to North Londs with immediate effect.
