Atletico Madrid may have to sign a striker this summer – they are already sniffing in the Premier League, and now they have drawn their attention to Chelsea, who should again be busy on the transfer market.
At the end of the season, Antoine Griezmann Atleti could leave for the second time in his career – this time it would be forever. Los Angeles FC would like to play his dream of playing in the MLS, and in the coming months the Talismian attacker will decide whether he wants to leave, whether the rest of his contract with Los Colchoneros wants to see.
If Griezmann goes, a new striker would be needed to compete Julian Alvarez, Alexander Sorloth and Angel Correa. Once the option that seems to be high on the list for Atleti, Nicolas Jackson, with reports in England (via Cahteroffside), stating that the Chelsea star “pops up like a top goal”.
Jackson came to Chelsea from Villarreal in the summer of 2023 for a fee in the region of € 35 million. Atletico Madrid is expected to make different signing sessions in the summer, although their priority is to add reinforcements in defense to the expected rooms of Axel Witsel, Cesar Azpilicueta and Reinildo Mandava. They have also been associated with a large movement for Villarreal game maker Alex Baena, so the money may not be there to make a good attempt for Jackson, which is probably relatively high appreciated by Chelsea.
