Atletico Madrid is looking for a new left back this summer, and an option that is being considered is Theo Hernandez. The 27-year-old is very familiar with Los Colchoneros, who came through the ranks at the Club Academy for a controversial move to Real Madrid in 2017.
Hernandez later came to Milan in 2019 and in the past six years he has become one of the world's best left -wing backs. But he now seems destined to leave the Serie A Giants this summer, and he would be available for a rather affordable price because his contract ends within 12 months.
Hernandez was also associated with a return to Real Madrid, but at this stage it is again a more realistic opportunity for Athleti. And that is because there have been conversations between the Cluh and his representatives, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
It has been reported that Hernandez would be available for a fee in the region of € 35 million, which is a figure that Saudi Pro League side is supposed to be Hilal completely over. They are advanced in their interests of the French international, which means that Athleti would catch up in their pursuit.
And now it seems that it will be difficult to overcome. Atleti is not enough interest in committing an offer of € 35 million, although that could change if Hernandez prioritizing a return to the club where he started his career. But at this stage he does not do this, which makes it more likely for him to join Hilal.
There is a good reason for Athleti to go to a new left back this summer, given the struggles they have had in the position in recent years. Hernandez would have been a good option, but it is logical that he is not aimed for exaggerated.
