Atletico Madrid miss out as Newcastle chase Alexander Isak replacement

The last weeks of the Premier League Summer Transfer window seem to be dominated by one name, Alexander Isak.

The Newcastle United Star has set out its position to leave the Magpies before the end of the month as part of a current Saga.

Liverpool has already seen an offer of £ 110 million rejected by the ownership of the Magpies, because they have a record £ 150 million to punish a possible sale.

The Reds have paused their efforts, in which Newcastle indicates that they will not enter into an exit conversations until a replacement has been brought in, after they have missed Manchester United in the race for Benjime Sesko.

Brentford Vooruit Yoane Wissa is on the radar of Eddie Howe, but reports from the athletic claim former Atletico Madrid star Samu Aghehowa is also an option.

The Spain International enjoyed a fantastic first season in Porto, with 19 league goals scored and 27 in all competitions.

Newcastle will not meet its release clause of € 100 million in Portugal, but they could consider an offer in the £ 50-60 million region for the 21-year-old.

If Newcastle contains their interest in Agehowa, there will be no advantage for Atletico Madrid, after an agreement with Porto earlier this summer.

Porto now has 100% of Samu's rights. After paying Atletico Madrid an additional € 12 million, the overall transfer costs brought to € 27 million – after explaining € 15 million in 2024.

Agehehowa now has no connection with the side of Diego Simeone and the previous rumors Sell-on clause of 20% has been removed and all costs go to Porto.

Simeone was associated with a movement to bring him back to the Spanish capital, in the midst of concern about Alexander Sorloth in his system, but that door seems to be firmly closed at this stage.

In an ironic turn, the charges of Simeone packed their preseason in Newcastle, with a 2-0 win in St. James' Park.
