Atletico Madrid has performed conversations for Napoli Vooruit Giacomo Raspadori, but has to make a final call about signing the Italian international. After missing Stuttgart's Enzo Millot, who is going to go to Al Ahli in Saudi Aarabia, Los Colchoneros look at alternatives to add something else in the last third part.
As reported last week, Raspadori is high on their list of alternatives. Napoli wants € 30 million for the 23-year-old, and Diario AS and Marca both report that Atletico has intensified conversations with the Serie A champions. Napoli is more flexible when it comes to payment conditions, and Los Rojiblancos also investigates ways to do the deal that suits them.
That can take the form of a loan with an obligation to buy, or just a deal of € 25 million with an extra € 5 million available in add-ons. Yet it is not yet certain that Atletico will also carry the deal through, with Matteo Moretto noticing that he is an option for, among other things, Football Carlos Bucero.
With negotiations between Inter and Atalanta for breathola lookman, Atletico could again explore a movement for the Nigerian. That said, it seems likely that his asking price of € 50 million should fall. Inter has the most recently had an offer of € 42 million plus € 3 million. As explained by Football Italia, Lookman does not train with the side and he has emptied his locker pending an exit.
Atletico wants to sign another attacker, and Lille and Spain Under-21 international Matias Fernandez-Pardo is a different name on their shortlist. There is interest in real Sociedad's Takefusa Kubo, but unless Nahuel Molina leaves, they would not be able to add another non-EU player to their team.
Moreover, Cadena SER explains that Atletico still has the feeling that there is more to do to fill in their team. That could be a central midfielder, after he had seen how short they were without Pablo Barrios in their 1-0 preseason-friendly defeat against Porto on Sunday. Another central defender would also be received well. There are currently four in their books in Robin Le Normand, David Hancko, Jose Maria Gimenez and Clement Lenglet, who leave Diego Simeone Short when he uses three on the back.
