Atletico Madrid will consider offers for attacker Alexander Sorloth, after a first season up and down in the Metropolitano. Los Colchoneros does not want to move Sorloth, but are open to a movement when a good offer arrives.
Sorloth was the player who had the best goals for a minutes ratio last season throughout La Liga, according to Optajose, to score every 89.3 minutes. It was a score rate that provided him with Robert Lewandowski and Kylian Mbappe. Yet it also spoke about the fact that Sorloth could not break in the starting XI. Despite the scoring of 24 times in his 53 performances, he missed some crucial opportunities and he could not score in one of the club World Cup of Champions League.
As reported by Marca, Atletico has received questions from other teams about Sorloth. They note that Sorloth is happy in Atletico Madrid, but that both Sorloth and Los Rojiblancos would consider that a movement was a good offer to arrive for him.
Previous reports have indicated that if an offer with which they could restore their investment for Sorloth, they would accept it. Sorloth arrived from Villarreal for € 32 million last summer. He was tipped to be an important part of their side, but now at the age of 29 he can be a slightly harder sale for Los Rojiblancos. Sorloth has left for three years at his deal, which means that Atletico will probably have € 24 million left for.
The front line of Atletico seems to be very competitive next season, with a number of players fighting for a starting spot next to Julian Alvarez. Sorloth could be very good at that place if Antoine Griezmann does indeed take a step back in terms of his responsibilities. When Diego Simeone goes again with two in the front, it will probably be Thiago Almada, Sorloth or Griezmann who combine with Alvarez.
