Atletico Madrid is looking for attacking additions this summer, with at least one current player who leaves during the coming transfer window. And at this stage there is a good chance that they will sign at least one Liverpool player as the replacement (s).
Angel Correa will leave Atleti after he has reportedly agreed the conditions for a move to Mexico, and he will be replaced if he continues. Replacements have already been drawn up and it is believed that a player who is watching club officials is Darwin Nunez.
The Uruguay International is supposed to be very interesting in moving to the Riyadhair Metropolitano, but it appears that he could be split off for his teammate in Liverpool.
As reported by Diario AS, Athleti Federico Chiesa has identified as a target for this summer's transfer window. He can leave Liverpool after he only joined himself in 2024, and director of Football Carlos Bucero has him on his shortlist.
Atleti consider Chiesa as a market opportunity. Liverpool wants to sell, but they would also be open to let him go on loan. In this respect, he would be considerably cheaper than Nunez, which would make him more desirable for Los Colchoneros, who are already planning to spend great on Cristian Romero and Alex Baena.
Prior to his Liverpool relocation in 2024, Chiesa attracted strong interest from Barcelona. And although that movement fell due to financial problems, Atleti would have more opportunities to close a deal this summer.
It is still to be seen whether Atleti makes a strong effort to sign Chiesa this summer. If so, they are expected to be confronted with competition from Napoli, who wants to bring the Italy International back to the Serie A.
