Atletico Madrid reject €25m offer for midfielder from Premier League

Atletico Madrid is theory in theory for a quiet ending of the transfer window, despite the fact that Los Rojiblancos and Diego Simeone would like to bring in a midfielder and willing to lose his Thomas Lemar. However, if one of their most important stars would leave, that would certainly change.

According to Marca, Atletico has received an offer of € 25 million for starting midfielder Rodrigo de Paul. The World Cup winner has had an up and down saying at Atletico, but is demonstrably playing his best football this season for Los Rojiblancos, and West Ham United wanted to benefit from the fact that he is only 18 months left at his deal in the Spanish capital.

Atletico, who, however, spends € 36 million to the Paul originally from Udinese 2.5 years ago, has rejected West Ham's offer. They are not going to sell the Paul during the winter transfer market. The Paper, based in Madrid says that there is a debate about his future planned for this summer.

Atletico is approaching the last year of his deal and is confronted with the choice to renew his deal or to give him for sale this summer. Los Colchoneros tended to a sale, but its form in recent months the club has reconsidered their position and a contract offer is now in their mind. They believe that there are few options such as the Paul on the market with the vision of playing and leadership that he has.

For his part, De Paul would like to stay in Atletico, but it is not outside the empire of the possibility that a lucrative offer from the Premier League of Saudi Arabia could make him reconsider that attitude.

The Paul will be 31 years old before the end of the season, and it is still to see which contract length they are willing to offer the Argentina International. Atletico will already like to have moving and Koke Resurreccion in reserve on Thomas Lemar to alternate with Pablo Barrios and Conor Gallagher. It is thought that Atletico is also on the market for a more defensive midfielder now or also in the line.
