Atletico Madrid was in pole position to secure the signing of VFB Stuttgart game maker Enzo Millot, but it now seems that they will miss the Frenchman. Los Colchoneros had negotiated a large part of the last two weeks with Millot, but could not get the deal with a lot of competition.
The 23-year-old stood out last season as one of the most impressive makers in the Bundesliga, but has a release clause of only € 20 million, which means that Stuttgart has more or less worked on the assumption of his exit this summer. Atletico was reportedly prepared to activate that release clause, but could not reach a deal on personal conditions with Millot. Since then this has been disputed by MD, who say that Atletico has offered the money, but through a payment plan instead of paying by the release clause, on which the German side did not want.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Saudi -Arabian has already hijacked Ahli de Deal. There was a suggestion that Atletico competed against Premier League parties for his signature, with Tottenham Hotspur closely connected to him. Millot has concluded an oral deal with Al Ahli, who will activate his release clause.
It was already reported last week that Atletico could be forced to turn their attention elsewhere, and so it has proven. Napoli attacker Giacomo Raspadori is the supposed alternative, but it is probably not a simple deal for Los Rojiblancos, where the Italian champions set his asking price at € 30 million.
The 25-year-old could arrive at a loan with an obligation to buy, but Atletico strives to bring down his price tag. The question asked by many Atletico fans is why Los Rojiblancos is or Raspadori in both Millot, a different style of player and more ahead than midfielder fits.
