If they want to take a new keeper with them, it also seems likely that they are going for a younger option.
In Spain, Diario has confirmed a report from Gaston Edul that Atletico has launched an informal investigation about Martinez, with Diego Simeone very enthusiastic about his fellow countryman. Manchester United, who is looking for a replacement for Andre Onana, is another top candidate, but Martinez would have a number of options.
So much is also confirmed by Talksport in England, who add that Saudi Aarabia also wants to sign Martinez, but so far he has rejected that idea. Martinez prefers to stay in Europe.
For Atletico Madrid it is no surprise that they would like to be on Martinez, after they have inserted one of his competitors in the Argentina team Juan Musso. It has been talking that Los Rojiblancos looks to the future beyond Jan Oblak, one of their highest earners, but Martinez is no younger than Oblak. The Slovenian has a contract until 2028, and even if there is less faith in him than there was ever, it would be a big surprise if they were big on Martinez to replace Oblak.
