Atletico Madrid -Baas Diego Simeone believes that Conor Gallagher has been a natural fit since arrival in Laliga and thinks he will develop even further.
Gallagher moved to Atletico when Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca said he was excess for the requirements in the preseason, for a fee in the region of € 40 million (£ 34 million).
Gallagher has played in different positions for Los Colchoneros, including in the middle of midfield and in a broad role, up and down on the flank and protects its full-back.
Simeone believes that Gallagher has ratified his side by his determination in the press, as well as his ability to make the criminal law area in the opposition.
“When we think of him, we think of his childhood, energy and intensity in the game. He also stores the ball very well,” Simeone told Real Valladolid prior to Monday's home game.
“It is never easy for players from England to adapt to the Spanish championship, to the language.
“He has very good in different places and in positions where he does not feel more comfortable.
“He will evolve, he has room for growth. He is very intense in offensive and defensive game, he brings a lot to us.”
Under all Atletico -midfielders, only Marcos Llorente tried this season (53) or (40) to have won more tackles in Laliga than Gallagher (28/38).
Gallagher has also won 83 times and contributed two goals and two assists in 24 league games for Simeone's Men.
But at the same time Simeone said that the versions of Nahuel Molina were not on the goal and demanded more of the full-back of Argentina.
“He is a person, in the first place, that is why he is sometimes better and other times not so much,” said Simeone.
“He knows he has to improve and we have spoken about it several times. If you give a lot of good things, you will be asked for more.
“He gives us many options offensive, he has the speed to finish things and he is also defensive for everything soon enough.
“We have to support him so that he can continue to give us everything he has already given us.”
Atletico has been closed in recent weeks to be third in Laliga, 10 points behind leaders Barcelona, who also hit Simeone's side in the semi -final of the Copa del Rey.
Atletico has also been deposited from the Champions League by Real Madrid, has had more time to recover for their league matches, but Simeone has left restlessly.
“It is also not that easy to train every day. I personally prefer to play regularly because it also means that we are more games,” said Simeone.
