Axel Tuanzebe has raised eyebrows after he has chosen to overlook Wayne Rooney when he was asked to choose his best teammate ever in Manchester United.
Tuanzebe emerged through the Youth Academy of United before making his debut for the club in 2017.
This week he returns to the club in the Colors or Ipswich Town, with both parties who play a crucial game at the bottom of the competition in Old Trafford.
Tuanzebe, who made 37 performances in the first team of United, was exposed to some of the biggest stars of the game during his breakthrough in senior football, but it is not Rooney who is not 1 in his eyes.
Rooney remains the record goalscorer from United All-Time and is one of the best strikers ever pulled on a united shirt.
But in the overlap Tuanzebe chose another superstar as his biggest teammate during his time in Manchester.
“Bastian Schweinsteiger,” said Tuanzebe.
“He was, I think, like 34, 35 at that time, I couldn't get close to him anywhere.
'I am 19 at the moment, so I have legs, I have legs for days. I couldn't … he was three, four, five steps in front of me.
“He knew how to control the ball and bring me out of balance, so I walk full, boom, he took this.
“And in the box, incredibly in the box, I've never seen a player … He had the opportunity to slow down time.”
Schweinsteiger left United for MLS in 2017 after he was frozen by Jose Mourinho.
But for Tuanzebe, the World Cup-winning German German remains, in his mind, remains the best of the best he worked with at United.
“Unbelievable, couldn't get around anywhere,” he added.
The German midfield enjoyed an illustrious career that saw him win the World Cup in 2014, and eight Bundesliga titles and a Champions League with Bayern Munich added.
After 17 years in Bavaria, he was signed by United in 2015, a year after winning the World Cup.
He made 35 performances in his first season in England, but a season later he only played four times when Mourinho continued from him, something he later spoke with.
It became so bad for Schweinsteiger that he was banned from the first teamjerkkamer and eventually grabbed his things to join Chicago Fire in the US.
Last year Schweinsteiger recorded with Gary Neville to explain the sour nature of his exit in Manchester United, a large part of which is astonished.
'It was 2016 and I was with the German national team, we went far into the competition [Euros] Reaching the semi -final, so I got in a little later [at United] And the team was in the US for a tour for the season, “he explained.
'When I arrived on the first day, I trained with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and loved it, a player who has the vision and is great to play with.
'The next day, on my birthday, when I entered Carrington, John Murtough [former United football director] Was there and said that I was not allowed to walk into the dressing room, the coach had said that. No warning, nothing.
'Don't know [why he told me]. Someone could have told me there [on my first day of training] Or did it explain to me in a normal way, but okay, I went to the dressing room of the youth and trained with the under 16 years. '
