Barcelona has received a boost about Premier League clubs in their attempt to sign a cheap striker during the summer transfer window, in which Jonathan David indicated that he would rather take a step to Spain over England when he leaves Lille at the end of the season.
David, who has scored 23 goals this season in all competitions this season, has already made it clear that he will not sign a new contract with Lille, and given that his current deal will get up at the end of June, he will be a free agent in the summer. And many clubs throughout Europe are aware of this because they are preparing to take a step for a very tempting market opportunity.
He has attracted particularly strong interest in the Premier League. In terms of La Liga parties, Barcelona has been watching the Canadian striker for a while and now they have had an advantage in the race to secure his signature.
According to Mercato, David has revealed that his wish is to play football in Spain in Spain at a certain moment in his career.
“The Premier League is much faster and more physically than any other competition. But for me I grew up watching La Liga and for me it is my favorite competition. It is the competition that I liked most, so one day I would like to play there.”
This would be good news for Barcelona, but in recent months they seemed to leave David. They are happy that Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres are the striker options that are available for Hansi film, and with neither players who looks like departure in the summer, there is no wish that a replacement will be brought in – even if it would be a market chance.
