Barça also considers the guarantee as a way to register Joan Garcia

Barcelona is waiting for the decision of the Medical Commission on Ter Stegen, but has the option to obtain the approval of a board member, who used it on other occasions.

FC Barcelona is waiting today or tomorrow for a decision of the Liga medical committee, which must determine whether the injury of Marc-André Ter Stegen is in the long term and therefore enables the club to use a percentage of the generous salary of the German keeper to register Joan Garcia as a stock market distance. If the committee determines that the situation of the goalkeeper can leave him offside for five months or more, the club can use 80% of its salary. If it is four months, the percentage drops to 50%. And if the medical committee ultimately decides that he will be outside for less than four months and will break Barça's plan A, there is a Plan B: the approval of the president and/or another member of the board of directors.

The club is waiting for a confirming response from the committee with regard to their dissertation, namely that the duration of the injury will enable them to use part of the salary of Ter Stegen to register Joan Garcia, the top priority in the registration process now, given the La Liga championship of La Liga, which is not registered in Laliga. Preseason and is not in the plans of the German coach for this campaign.

In any case, if the answer differs from the predictions and interests of FC Barcelona, the club has not excluded a definitive registration route, which was previously used: the personal approval of a board member. Barça even insured the agents of Joan Garcia by explaining this possibility at the end of July, as published by MD. That is why there is a plan B, although the club hopes not to use it.

It was already used with Koundé

In August 2022, when FC Barcelona Jules Koundé from Sevilla signed, there were also problems registering the Frenchman. He was then registered thanks to a personal guarantee from President Laporta and treasurer Ferran Olivé. At that time, the amount was estimated at around eleven million euros. Months later, in January 2023, that warranty was deactivated because the departure of Gerard Piqué left room for salary to be used with Koundé.
