Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, promised last week that there would be a strong reaction from the club to La Liga's statement that their salary limit had been lowered and on Monday evening it was delivered. The Blaugrana have announced that they leave the representative committee next to La Liga, Celta Vigo and Las Palmas in protest.
That was one of the many movements that Barcelona stated in a statement, after the announcement of La Liga that they would look for an emergency bus against the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor. Last week it was ruled by Barcelona that the duo would remain registered.
Barcelona explains that La Liga and President Javier Tebas are contrary to the confidentiality rules, making public details about their budgets and blaming his public statements for activating 'a large -scale campaign of defamer against the club and its president'. They also mention Tebas's statements about the club 'a clear attempt at destabilization that is unacceptable'.
In the future they also make requirements of La Liga. One is that the salary limit statement is removed from their website. The other two demand that La Liga and Tebas refrain from making public statements with regard to the documents submitted to La Liga, and to make the actions or initiatives of the public that La Liga undertakes with regard to the club and/or its players.
This is the last chapter in a very public battle between Barcelona and La Liga on the issue, with the resolution of the High Sports Committee (CSD) last week that the Dani Olmo and Pau Victor Registration Saga seemed to end, at least until the summer. The appeal of La Liga to the court of controversial decisions ensures that the drama will continue for a few weeks and offers more uncertainty to the run-in in La Liga.
