Barcelona players held a minute of silence for their training session on Sunday after the death of the first team doctor of the club a day before.
Mail Sport reported earlier that Blaugrana's football players were informed about Carles Minarro who died after arriving in the stadium.
The club published a video on social media with the players who pay tribute to Minarro, accompanied by: 'Before training, the team had a respectful minute of silence in memory of Dr. Carles Miñarro Garcia. '
Moreover, Barcelona later followed with another message on X, which stated: 'Always in our memory, Carles'
The Catalans had postponed the home game of their Saturday against Osasuna 20 minutes before the kick -off, with the club's statement followed the following hour.
While the Olympic Stadium was set for the match and the line-up of the team was announced, no Barcelona players came to the warm-up for the game.
“FC Barcelona is deeply sad to announce the death of Dr. Carles Minarro Garcia of the first team,” said the club statement.
'For this reason, the match between FC Barcelona and Ca Osasuna has been postponed to a later date.
“The FC Barcelona Board of Directors and all employees are expanding our sincere condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.”
Spanish outlet Marca reported that Carles Minarro died in the team hotel and left two children, Gerard and Anna.
It is understood that he was close to Barcelona players after he came to the first team at the start of the campaign.
The Spanish midfielder Pedri shared a tribute on social media and wrote: 'I still can't believe it. A big hug for Carles's family and friends. '
Defender Ronald Araujo added: 'Incredibly. Rest in Vredesdoc. Lots of strength for the family and friends. May God strengthen your heart in this difficult time. '
Osasuna also offered their participation in Barcelona and Carles Minarro's family.
