Barca icon Iniesta’s future plans after retirement: “Learn a little about…”

Legends of Barcelona and Real Madrid were involved in “Clasico de Leyendas” on Saturday, with the match taking place in Tokyo. It would have been a familiar setting for Andres Iniesta, who played in Japan for five years with Vissel Kobe.

Iniesta was one of the top players involved in the Clásico of the legends, and after the match he spoke to EFE (via MD) about his future plans – following on from his announcement of his retirement from professional football earlier this year.

“Learn a little bit about everything related to football. I'm also dealing with the whole issue of the title of coach and enjoying other things that you can't do when you're in the profession. I look forward to this next step.”

Coaching would be an obvious next step for Iniesta, who hopes to follow in the footsteps of Johan Cruyff, Pep Guardiola, Xavi Hernandez and others who have played and managed for Barcelona.
