Due to their well-documented financial problems, Barcelona are not expected to be very active during the winter transfer window, which opens next month. The only possible signing at this stage would be Antonio Cordero, who has been gaining traction within the Catalan club in recent months.
Cordero has been a standout performer for Malaga this season and with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Barcelona have considered the possibility of signing him in January for a fee of around €2 million. However, MD says they are not confident this is happening.
If Cordero were to join next month, he would probably mainly be used by Barca Atletic, which plays one level lower than Malaga. As such, it wouldn't be too appealing for the 17-year-old to make the move.
It remains to be seen how Cordero's situation will develop. Given his potential, he would be a top signing for Barcelona, although acquiring his services will be easier said than done.
