Barcelona could be prevented from choosing two of their players for the rest of the season after they have been accused of the incorrect submitted of their financial figures earlier this year.
In the midst of the club's financial battle, Barcelona announced in January that they had sold 475 VIP chairs in the rebuilt well -camp to a number of investors in the middle -east.
The deals that stretch in 30 years would have added £ 84 million to the club's finances, so that they could balance their books.
It also enabled Barcelona to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor for the second half of the season after there was genuine concern that the duo from Hansi Flick's team should be omitted.
A temporary accountant for Barcelona has submitted the paperwork to confirm the deal on December 31, but Laliga has now claimed that the figures sent by the new full -time accountancy company of the club, Crowe Spain, was included in the £ 84 million for this season.
Laliga issued a statement on Wednesday and wrote: 'On January 3, 2025, a certificate was issued by the new auditor of the club and acknowledged that the transaction was correctly registered as income in the club's profit and loss account for the current season.
'This documentation was necessary and essential to validate the accounting.
'Without these certificates, Barcelona would not have been possible to register players at Laliga.
'Subsequently, in the first half of the current season, no quantity of the aforementioned business operation in the profit and loss account is registered in his interim annual accounts that refer to the first half of the current season.
“That is contrary to what the club and the auditor was certified at the time of the performance of the aforementioned operation.”
Laliga has told Barcelona that the £ 84 million has been beaten their spending limits, whereby Olmo and Victor are now 'not registered'.
The Spanish Sports Council – a branch of the country of the country – is expected to make a definitive decision about the suitability of Olmo and Victor in the coming days.
If the council comes to the side of Laliga, Olmo and Victor will miss the run-in the season, with Barcelona currently on track for a historic Treble.
They have a three-point advantage compared to Real Madrid in Laliga and will be confronted with their arch rivals in the Copa del Rey final later this month.
Barcelona also likes the quarterfinals of the Champions League where they take on Borussia Dortmund.
Olmo only came to Barcelona last summer for £ 50 million from RB Leipzig, but was linked to a move to the Premier League in January when it was unclear whether Barcelona could register him again.
They eventually got the green light, but this statement could be destroyed in the light of the new information that Laliga has put forward.
OLMO has scored eight goals this season in 28 performances in all competitions.
Victor, 23, is largely limited to limited minutes of the bank this period and has scored twice in 22 trips.
