Barcelona 3-0 Stade Brestois 29: Lewandowski nets 100th UCL goal, Olmo scores

Robert Lewandowski became the third player to score 100 Champions League goals as Barcelona defeated Brest in dominant fashion.

Match report

Making his 125th Champions League appearance, Lewandowski scored his milestone goal from the penalty spot just 10 minutes in at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys after being robbed by Brest goalkeeper Marco Bizot.

Dani Olmo made things more comfortable for Barcelona, who squandered several chances to extend their lead and occasionally looked vulnerable to counter-attacks midway through the second half.

Olmo expertly evaded a plethora of defenders in the box and squeezed in a finish that went in through Bizot.

And Lewandowski appropriately added even more sparkle to stoppage time to move to 101 goals in UEFA's premier cup competition.

Barcelona moved to second place in the 36-team standings, with 12 points, one point behind leaders Inter.

3+ – Barcelona is the fifth team to win four games in a row by more than three goals in the European Cup/Champions League, after PSG in 2017 (5), Bayern Munich (4 in 2020 and 2021), Leeds United in 1969 (4) and Reims in 1958 (4).

Lewandowski is the third player to score 100 goals in the Champions League, after Lionel Messi (129) and Cristiano Ronaldo (140).

However, the Barca forward made the fewest shots (451) to reach the milestone, with Messi needing 527 and Ronaldo 793.
