As the years pass, there is an increasing stream of talent from North America to Europe in terms of football, and increasingly European giants are expanding their reconnaissance efforts to the US and Canada. The newest that appears on their radar is New York Red Bulls Winger-Cum-Forward Julian Hall.
The 16-year-old, who turns 17 next month, made the headlines in 2023 when he made his debut in Major League Soccer for the Red Bulls, making him the second youngest player in the history of the competition at the age of only 15. Season he started to make his first progress in MLS, play 12 games, score twice and give an assist. In total he only played 240 minutes.
According to MD, sources in the United States have connected Hall with Barcelona, and have noticed that he has achieved their reconnaissance efforts. The Blaugrana already have people like USMNT goalkeeper Diego Kochen, Pedro Soma and Adrian Gill under their youth ranks from the States.
In the meantime, the goal mentions Chelsea, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid as potential rivals for his signature. Given the number of clubs mentioned, his age and his progress, it would not be a surprise if a number of top clubs monitor Hall, although it seems unlikely at this stage that someone has taken a step for him. He will not be able to move continents until the summer of 2026 because of the FIFA rules as soon as it turns 18.
Part of Barcelona's strategy in the transfer market, in the light of their recent financial struggle, was the recruitment of teenage talents before they started taking their first steps in European football and exponentially increasing their price tag. As part of the Red Bull -Franchise it would be no surprise, if Hall made the leap to Europe, his first side was like RB Salzburg or RB Leipzig.
