Barcelona has announced a contract extension for Brazilian attacker Raphinha, who is ready for a wage increase after what has undoubtedly been the best season in his career. He will extend his deal with the Blaugrana until 2028 and add an extra year to his current deal.
After El Clasico, Raphinha had mentioned two weeks ago that 'My Renewal' was the next one for him because the Blaugrana had more or less packed La Liga. Director of Football Deco then also broke the news of the renewal a few hours in advance during a radio interview, which confirms that he would add an extra year to his deal.
The 28-year-old struggled to lock up a normal starting place in his first two seasons, with Xavi Hernandez often prefering Ousmane Dembele and Gavi in the wide places. He was an excellent candidate who was sold last summer, and there were certainly people in Barcelona who wanted to cash in Raphinha, struggling to produce the form for which they signed him.
But in his own words, Hansi changed 'his life', convinced him to stay last summer and trust him and give him a new life. That is reflected in a series of coupling goals, with 34 in total in addition to 24 assists in just 56 performances.
