Barcelona are set to ‘offer a lucrative contract extension until 2030’ to Kounde

Barcelona is reportedly ready to offer Jules Kounde an important salary boost to bind the Frenchman in the Nou -camp.

The Blaugrana have become uncertain of the future of Kounde, with Chelsea among those who apparently keep an eye on the defender.

The blues have long been interested in Kounde since his time at Sevilla, but were placed in the race for his services in the summer of 2022 by Barcelona.

Allegedly, this summer they want to give Barca a taste of their own medicine by taking their valued defender out of their grip while the side of Enzo Maresca continues their extensive rebuilding.

But after the beginning of 2025 to complete a large number of contract extensions, reports in Spain claim that Barcelona now wants to do the same with Kounde to block the advances of Chelsea.

According to Diario Sport, Kounde is seen by Hansi Flick as a vital player and he wants to quickly sort a resolution around his future.

The French International is currently under contract in Catalonia until 2027, but the intention is to extend that bond until 2030 by offering him a substantial wage increase.

This is as a blow to Chelsea, which Kounde sees this summer as a top objective while they are looking for stability on the right.

Club captain Reece James has been plagued by injury problems and Chelsea over the past two years can choose to name Time of Death when getting the former English international back as a regular starter, instead replacing him with a world -class talent.

Rumor has Chelsea willing to offer around £ 83 million for Kounde, which can be considered by Barcelona while they continue to view their finances.

That saying, the financial situation in the Nou -Camp is slowly improving – and with Flick who sees Kounde as indispensable, he will insist that the club enables the Frenchman to protect the Frenchman.

If Push comes to push, Flick will also insist that the club sells other high earners to balance the books, with Ansu Fati preparing to leave.

This season, Kounde has been a pillar of the Barcelona line -up and started 21 of their 23 league games so far in the 2024/25 campaign while the Blaugrana -Push to win back the Liga title.
