Barcelona seems to live in a constant Boomerang situation between spending for new signing sessions and developing how to register because of concerns about salary limit. It turned out that they had much more room to breathe after selling another € 100 million in assets (the rental of 475 VIP seats for 30 years in Camp Nou), but already appears the extra space in their salary limit.
The move was mainly carried out to register summer signing sessions Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, which were initially registered under a rule for emergency injuries. Barcelona, perhaps wise, decided not to spend too much new players in the January transfer window. Instead, the Blaugrana have concluded fresh contracts to the core of their team, with Gerard Martin, Ronald Araujo, Pedri, Gavi and most recently Pau Cubarsi put that pen on paper.
Reports recently claimed that Barcelona agreed with Robert Lewandowski and Inigo Martinez, despite clauses in their contracts, that meant that they would automatically receive that extension, depending on the number of games played. Marca says that this is indeed the case for Martinez, but Barcelona does not have to follow enough space in their salary limit after their wave of innovations to confirm that from the Basque defender. They say that Barcelona is now looking for solutions and talk to La Liga about the issue.
Sports director Deco recently reduced the expectations of what things can be expected for Barcelona next summer, and given this news it seems likely that the sale is also taking place. The Blaugrana not only has to hold Lewandowski and Martinez, but must also sign Lamine Yamal for a large new contract. Moreover, Deco has five further players to make contract decisions for July, who might have further doubt about the will of Ronald Araajo and Frenkie de Jong's Futures too.
