Barcelona begin talks for surprise contract renewal

Since the beginning of 2025, Director Barcelona of Football Deco has hardly been paused between contract extensions and a considerable part of the current team has now agreed with or held conversations about a new deal in the past three months. The last one involved in discussions is younger Pablo Torre.

Something that comes as a surprise, given his lack of minutes at the first team. Torre, 21, is impressed by the chance, on average a target contribution every 53 minutes during his 12 performances this season, but with only 373 minutes those opportunities have been very little in between. With Gavi and Fermin Lopez who struggles for him for minutes, it is no surprise that he has seen little playing time.

With his contract in 2026, however, it was expected that Barcelona would like to sell Torre this summer, but Sport now says that Deco has opened conversations with his agents about an extension. The Blaugrana wants to offer him an extension of a year until 2027, although he does not accept it, they will look to move it this year.

Their plan is that Torre will be on loan to another La Liga club in the summer, where he can increase its value, get play time and possibly even earn a place on his return to the club in 2026.
