Barcelona believe Gunner target can be long-term answer for goalkeeping position

Espanyol -goalkeeper Joan Garcia's turnout in profile continues and another great achievement last weekend against Alaves earned his side a victory over fellow relegation Battlers Alaves. Those versions did not go unnoticed by the city.

According to Cadena Ser, Barcelona has monitored Joan Garcia and are interested in the 23-year-old Shot stopper. They are impressed by his impressions in La Liga, and even believe that he could be the long-term answer to the goalkeeper position in Camp Nou, with established options Marc-Andre ter Stegen (32) and Wojciech Szczesny (35) on the back of their career. It is expected that Inaki Pena will not be contrary after the end of the season.

With a release clause of € 25 million, Garcia could be a relatively affordable long-term solution for the Blaugrana, but their current plans mean that they will probably miss the Olympic gold medal winner. However, the plan in Barcelona is to have Ter Stegen and Szczny as their senior keepers next season, and that will stop the arrival of Garcia.

Espanyol is in a desperate salary limit and will probably be obliged to make a big sale in the summer, with Garcia the most obvious candidate. Already last summer Garcia was the subject of bids from Arsenal, and the Gunners were tipped to return for him next summer.
