After his tragic death on Saturday afternoon, Barcelona Team Doctor Carles Miñarro Garcia became on Tuesday for the last time to rest. A delegation from the Blaugrana was present to say goodbye.
On Monday evening, MD reports that the majority of the Barcelona team said goodbye at Miñarro's Wake. Also present was Real Madrid's director of institutional relations Emilio Butragueno, which was received by Barcelona director Enric Masip.
The funeral took place at a cemetery in the Port Olimpic area of Barcelona, where there was a large Barcelona-related presence, although the only player present was Captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who arrived by President Joan Laporta. Director of Football Deco and assistant Bojan Krkic were also present, just like vice-president Rafa Yuste. The Barcelona Sala football team was present in its entirety and had worked with Miñarro for the past seven years. Also present at the funeral was a delegation of Espanyol, including the head of their medical department, Narciso Amigo.
Miñarro died on Saturday afternoon in his sleep for the Barcelona collision with Osasuna in Montjuic, which was canceled as a result. However, the Blaugrana will be back in action against Benfica on Tuesday evening at 6:45 PM in the return leg of their round of 16 Champions League-equal game, in which they have a 1-0 lead.
The Barcelona players will wear black bracelets as a sign of mourning, and UEFA has given the green light for a minute of silence in honor of Miñarro for the game tonight. No Barcelona players were required for media people before the game, but manager Hansi Flick told the press that his side was going well and noted that it was up to them to win and to be able to win the victory to Miñarro, who left the world at the age of only 40.
